New Bread Coming Soon!
Polish Bread Tasting Was a Big Hit.
Samo Zdrowie - Family Bakery'ssample tasting at the depot last week was such a great success that we will begin stocking their breads from September 1st. This traditional Polish bread is baked locally at Samo Zdrowie - Family Bakery just down the street on Mulgrave Street/Ballysimon Road! We received such great feedback from the tasting and are more than happy to stock this locally baked bread. At The Urban Co-Op we aim to support and stock local produce, where possible, and are delighted to be introducing this new stock to the depot and our members. The bakery is committed to using only natural ingredients and producing quality, healthy foods. You can find out more about their bakery in Polish or English on their website.
Co-Operative Coffee Break
Bringing you a quick co-operative-fix while you sip your break away!
For this week's coffee break video musician Moby discusses the use of pesticides and steps you can take to help save the bees from colony collapse. Bees are very important for the pollination of plants and are responsible for pollinating approximately four hundred types of agricultural plants such as broccoli, asparagus and blueberries. You can take practical steps to help by not using chemical sprays and pesticides in the garden and planting bee-friendly plants and herbs.
